A blink of eyes and I'll be leaving Singapore in a few hours time. The first time in my life that I'm travelling to such a far place! So many miles and miles and miles and miles away from home...If not for the change in my life which happened 3 months ago, I wouldn't have the courage and impulse to something this crazy.

It was our wish to fly to England together. Nevertheless, I would still be able to fulfill this wish. As inevitably, I will carry a part of you that lingers within me on this trip.

I guess most of the couples out there might have already planned to go for a nice and romantic dinner tonight so as to avoid the crowd on Valentine's Day tomorrow. In fact, lately, I realised that alot of the people whom I know have fallen out of love, are one-by-one getting romantically involved all over again.

Don't get me wrong - although I am very much single right now, I am not going to bitch about how commercialized Valentine's day is all about and how the singles should have a helluva time out there singing "love stinks".

I just want to wish everyone a HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY on the 14 February 2011. To love and be loved! Be it romance, friendship, or kinship. Remember love is what keeps us breathing and alive. Well as for me, I am enjoying the newly gained luxury of sitting back and having no trouble thinking of what to buy as a Valentine's Day gift. In fact, I will be spending my V day with my piano teacher! =)

Down with fever

This is obviously a bad start to the new lunar year. The whole family was down with flu and fever. Arrghz I was trying very hard to clear as much work as possible before leaving for London in 2 weeks' time but I have no energy to even crawl to work. Dear body, please recover soon!

And I guess, when you are so sick and needy...you will just hope that somebody is there for you... How have you been? I guess you have walked so far away from me that I couldn't even see your shadow anymore.

It's not the end of the world

The things and the people around you. And you realise, maybe, your problem is just a tiny weeny bit in comparison to the big big world outside.

So then you woke up, stepped outside and started smiling at everyone.

Get up, Get out, Get over - Episode 2

Bear in mind, everything around you still moves on with or without you knowing. You need to accept the fact. Cry as much as you need to ‘cause you will soon get tired of it and eventually – stop crying.

Do not be afraid of moving slowly, be afraid of standing still.

In order to learn to love someone, you need to first love yourself. You can only find happiness through learning to love yourself and be happy even when you are alone. By accepting the fact and picking up yourself, you will soon find yourself on the way back into love – which is most probably new.

But how can he leave me just like that? He used to say I am the one and he couldn’t imagine his life without me!

If you know that something is no longer working in the way that you want it to be, you may choose to fix it or leave it and find something new. Unfortunately, when it comes to something, like love, that has no absolute answer and solutions, guys, especially, will choose to walk away.

Don’t keep thinking that he has betrayed your love and has been lying all along throughout the relationship. There and then, he may really have loved you and could not imagine his life without you. But when reality sets in and the differences surface, separation may seem to be a reasonable choice at least for now.

I forgive. I forget.

4. Remove anything that will remind you of him

Start doing a spring-cleaning of the stuff that reminds you of him or the both of you together. You don’t need more things to remind you of your pain. In addition, it will also keep you busy for a while. Don’t have to feel pity. Move on and start creating new memories.

But these are memories I would like to keep

Sure. When I mentioned to remove, I don’t really mean throwing ‘em away. You may have them sealed in a box and reminisced them years after you have moved on. In fact, by then, these memories will also serve as a reminder of how you have survived and how strong you have become.

5. Go for a retail therapy

I’m not implying that he left you ‘cause you are not beautiful and therefore, you need to make yourself beautiful. In case, you don’t remember the number of Hollywood beauties who got dumped. The point here is regardless whether you are a Miss Universe or not, your confidence may be dampened when a guy decided to leave you.

I bet he wants to find someone prettier and younger

Stop guessing what he wants or what he thinks. Because you are not HIM. So get over with it and focus on yourself. By treating yourself better, you will feel happier and move out of the sorrow earlier. In fact, a weird fact about men is that they tend to love women who are confident and don’t give a damn about them, than women who are needy and want to cling onto them each and every seconds.

GET UP, GET OUT AND GET OVER

As I sit in front of my desktop, I’m wondering if I even qualify to pen my thoughts down as advices for the ladies out there. Whilst this may not be of any professional advice from a relationship expert, I would like to just share some of my experiences out there – for those beautiful (inner and outer) ladies who are suffering heartbreaks. It’s all about getting up, getting out and finally getting over.

It’s not you, It’s me – From the thousands of jerks out there

Yes, you heard it right and it could still be ringing deep in your ears. The guy, who told you that “I love you, and will marry you” (perhaps after sex) last night, is saying something drastically painful and contradicting now. You might be thinking. “Oh, it’s just some hurtful words from him ‘cause we just had a huge quarrel! Everything’s gonna be okay.”

So when you wake up the next morning, you realized, you had fallen out of love – you are now SINGLE. So you got up, looked at the mirror, and saw a zombified face staring right back at you. Yes, that’s you. What do you do now? *sobbed*

Let it go, if it’s meant to be, it will be – For there will be an answer.

1. It’s not easy but you have to remove ALL his contacts.

BBM, MSN, WHATSAPP, FACEBOOK, MYSPACE, FRIENDSTER…

Anything that you can list on top of what I have above. PRESS THE DELETE BUTTON.

But we can remain as friends, can’t we?

Yes, you may. But trust me, this is not the time yet. Not yet. I once thought that I am strong enough to still remain as friend with him. Keeping in touch. I was wrong. I wake up in the middle of the night sometimes thinking he will leave a goodnight message or something *cause we are still friends*.

Remember, once you have broken up, you are two single entities with no strings attached and no obligations. Why would he still invest effort and time on somebody whom he has decided that it won’t work. What’s more, you won’t want to shatter your heart further when you saw his newly uploaded photos *flashing right in your face and blatantly telling you “I’ve moved on”*

2. No contact for at least 60 days.

A step further from deleting his contacts is to not contact him for at least – the next 60 days.

You have already told me to delete his contacts...

Yes, I know. But I also know that deep down, his number is already etched in your mind. So the objective for removing his contacts is to also STOP contacting him.

They call it the text message terrorism. Terrorizing the lad through messenger, whatsapp, BBM, etc asking him “why, why, why”, “why can’t you give our relationship a second chance!” You need to stop it.

Guys are not Tag Heuer. They crack under pressure – From a buddy who randomly blurts out inspiring quotes that are worth a laugh. Totally.

The more you want to get an answer from the man, the more he shunned away from you. He has made it very clear. You don’t need him to repeat another “It’s not you, It’s me. You will be better off with another guy. Trust me.”

There are ten thousand reasons to be together, and one reason to walk away.

So before he thinks that you are such a lousy cry baby, who even start to stalk him on Facebook, Friendster (worst to even log in to his email account using his password), etc, you need to show him that you will be fine with or without him. At least stop clinging onto him with a question that clearly will not have an acceptable nor logical answer. At least, when you leave the relationship, you know that you have left with DIGNITY.

What if he wants to be with me again?

This only happens in the movies. If he has decided that it would not work out, what makes him suddenly think that “hey, it will work again!” Unless there is a very, very good reason or something about the both of you have changed – this rarely happens in a short period of time. Even if the both of you got together again, don’t be surprised of a second breakup.

WHAT IF HE TRULY WANTS ME BACK!!!

Alright, sometimes miracle does happen. Note the word “miracle” (painful but true). And I have also seen a very few couples back together after a breakup. But if he really wants you back. He WILL find a way.

3. Keep a journal and pen down the whole list of things on “how he sucks (hello, not literally in case you are wondering)”

When you are out of the relationship, your brain keeps telling you the good ‘o memories both of you had together. You seemed to have forgotten the anger, frustrations and pain that the man had once inflicted on you. So with a fresh memory still in place, write down the whole list of items you hate about the man. Yes, keep repeating the scenarios when he tried to kiss you with his bad breath, hug you with a bad odor or had a bad dress/hair day.

In that journal, you may also want to write down how sad or depressed you feel. A channel for you to vent your frustrations. You may want to write down how much you wanted him back, etc. This is a way for you to let out your thoughts and feelings rather than picking up the phone and text messaged him the words. Note that this journal should not be accessible by the man but only close friends who want to know how you are doing and be there for you. The man should not be in the knowledge that you are still in great pain because of his decision.

Well I am still alive and kicking and you could consider I’m finally reviving my blog. For long? Ain’t sure.

The sad thing is…when my life seemed to be crashing down on me, I fell back to my blog. So apparently this blog contained most of those painful memories. Why-oh-why did I leave out the good memories? Regrets.

Moving forward, alone, I shall create new memories on how beautiful my life is. =)

It's been ages since I last posted something on the blog. You can't blame me for it, blame Windows Live Writer! I have not been able to post anything and have to resort back to using this ugly web-based blogger post. =( But I thought I cannot leave my blog in the lurch! So I'm back regardless how painful it is to use this program.

And....jal-mug-ut-seum-ni-da! HEH! In English, it means "the food was delicious! (I ate well)".

Had a great time with my colleagues at the TOGI restaurant located along an alley at Chinatown (Mosque street). By word-of-mouth, we were brought there in search for authentic and good korean food! The queue was tad long but the service was adequately satisfying and hence, we didn't need to wait for too long.

As a family run Korean restuarant, the place is clean and neat giving a cozy feeling. 10 mins after we sort of settled down, we were presented with a variety of delectable Korean side dishes, i.e. fried nian gao, mashed potatoes, kimchi, achar, etc. And the best part about it? It's unlimited = a.k.a FREE FLOW!

We ordered the specialty, "KIMCHI PANCAKES WITH SEAFOOD", which I decided to order after overhearing somebody behind the queue earlier saying that it was awesome. It was "chao ta" on the first look and I thought it would be something bitter. BUT NO I WAS WRONG! It was GREAT! The crispiness along the edges of the pancakes enhanced the whole taste of it. TRY IT!

Next, we were served the BBQ squid and pork belly dish. Every bit of it was grilled to ensure that you enjoy the BBQ taste and yet not finding it overly cooked. Love it. =)

Finally, the long-awaited (not really) spicy seafood steamboat. To begin with, it is not very spicy. Loved the ingredients in the pot, i.e. crabs, sotong, ramen, etc. However, the soup could be better though. Perhaps I'm too used to the saltiness of the steamboat we always have at seoul garden or our own home-made steamboat.

We spent about an average of $18 per person, inclusive of barley tea, which tasted way too bland =/.

In the nutshell, do drop by TOGI, if you are:

1) craving for Korean food

2) loves unlimited serving of Kimchi

3) Tired for needing to BBQ at the Seoul Garden

4) Looking for a new hangout place with friends

5) Interested to try out a variety of Korean steamboats
6) Fear for spiciness *note: for those who love extra spicy Korean food, you may want to skip the thought*

What’s wrong with being a Chinese?

At first, I thought they were joking until I heard it myself. That guy really asked for a ticket to I…P….Man.

He is a Chinese. Well, what’s wrong with that? For goodness sake, why can’t they just figure it out that the movie is called YIP MUN! Gosh, and it’s already YIP MUN 2! Hello!!!

The point here is, I just can’t stop wondering why will a Chinese think that "IP” is supposed to be pronounced separately? Like too influenced by that organ named “L.P.”??? Even if they can’t understand “IP”, they could have figured it out through the Chinese title “叶问” right??

Why am I kicking a fuss here, you may wonder. Besides being obsessed over Donnie Yen, it just brings back my memories of being a good (not trying to be humble!) Chinese student back in school. When English is soooo into the youngsters and everyone just go ga-ga over sitcoms like “F.R.I.E.N.D.S” and the quote “I hate Chinese lessons”. Nothing wrong with that but I can still feel how people look down on Chinese and look up at ANG MOS.

It also reminded me of my second ex-boyfriend who used to think that he is supposed to be an Australian (he must be crazy) when he is totally yellow in skin. *Lucky I broke up with him*

The point here is … it’s okay to not being able to speak good Chinese or even read those Chinese characters. However, can’t these people just at least be “educated”? Okay I hear you, fair enough, it is Cantonese after all. BUT STILL! I don’t think those Caucasians feel proud pronouncing “Iron man” as '”Onion Man” or “Iron Mun” right…Some Chinese actually feel proud at the fact that they gave up halfway reading Chinese blogs or can’t even speak good Chinese. heh~

Okay, I’m not here trying to be a CHINESE patriotic or a show-off. Honestly, my Chinese fumbled after ‘O’. You know what caused it. And my English is not getting anywhere better. But at least I am a Chinese and I do love my culture.

It is our polling night finally! The time has come when the government finally realised that we need a lift upgrading! I didn’t know that polling for lift upgrading is such as BIG THING. Most of my neighbours were there. In fact, the whole polling will stretch over a long 4 days!

Along with the polling event, there were also “ge tais”, magic show, lucky draws, and even goodie bags… All tax payers’ money ah? mmm…But whatever, please give my flat a facelift!

The Day We Trash Man United Again

A rainy Saturday morning is definitely enjoyable...but it was drizzling the whole evening just now...the bunch of us had to brace through the rain at Robertson Quay to find a dining place with ginormous TV to watch the match!

Unfortunately, there was totally no seats available :(...could have had lot more seats but the huge square was vacant because of the rain. Finally settled at some Japanese restaurant named "Sugisawa" (if I remembered correctly).

To our surprise, the food was good!! Their bento cost only about 15 bucks with juicy tender fried chicken, rice, seafood cold dish, miso soup and best of all Sashimi!!! So value for money! The other greatest thing?

Chelsea win man u at 2-1 at Old Trafford again!!! :)

Anniversary Feast

People have been asking me if I’ve grown fatter. With this kind of boyfriend, logically, how can I get any slimmer?

It was our random anniversary 2 days back, and we decided to have a feast at a hotel! I have always been bugging him to bring me to a fine dining… =/ speak about fine dining…I think buffet suited us more?

So he brought me to Melt – The World Cafe at Marina Oriental Hotel. Yes…The word “Cafe” doesn’t make it sound expensive, you must be thinking…

It serves international buffet, ranging from Japanese sushi, Indian Naan, Italian pasta, Thai cold dishes to Oceanic seafood…

I could have posted more pictures! But the people around us look so ATAS*mostly ang mohs in fact* made me feel so mountain turtle if I were to keep snapping pictures of food.

Personally speaking, I don’t think the food is awesomely fantastic, but I’m a person who loves variety! Especially love those seafood lying on the ice…Regretted not having more lobster sashimi =( *blame it on the fried food and grills* Their grills like satays are good too…tender and juicy but of course, you can find better stuff at the hawker I thought…

Their sushi can be better *side tracked – accidentally dropped a sushi into their pot of soy sauce haha! So embarrassing*

And I’m regretting the fact that I didn’t take pictures of their dessert!!

Loves the ice cream on waffle, chocolate fondue, and those exquisite desserts served in shots. Nice. =)

But one downside of it…THEY DON’T SERVE FREE FLOW DRINKS. It sucks to core and guess what… we were charged $48 for 4 glasses of fruit juices. PUKES!

Our bill added up to a great $215..and that’s after some dunno-what discount. T.T Over Mr GVM’s budget by 15 bucks. haha! But totally adores the fact that he has been spoiling me with all the great stuff! Guess we need to start eating hawker centre’s food for the coming months.

Last but not least…HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MR GVM!

The third day of our HK trip was mainly for sightseeing and shopping!
To be honest, shopping at HK was nothing cheaper than in Singapore though. =/

We started off our journey with a scrumptious Dim Sum breakfast! Yea you know, it’s HK ma! Totally like those typical HK serial with all the “senior citizens”…haha! But no Dim Sum trolley. =( Nonetheless, the food was good~!

Met up with dear WX, her sister and friends for lunch at a mexican restaurant. With that, we also had a chance to do a bit of exploring around the SOHO area. But it was a super RAINY day… Very sad!

We went MTR-ing and exploring some famous areas in HK such as Causeway bay, Wan Chai, Kowloon, Central, Tsim Sha Tsui…etc.

It was pouring cats and dogs the whole day….But it didn’t stop us from sightseeing!

Then at night…Went to Avenue of Stars to watch the Symphony of Lights. NICE!

Had to cab back to our hotel because we were both so tired and the weather was freezingly cold…
After recuperating from a 30-mins rest…Off we go to the

MODERN TOILET RESTAURANT

which was right opposite our hotel!

It took me a while to overcome the mental struggle with the thought of sitting on toilet bowls and sipping my kiwi fruit juice from an urinal (P.S. you can also hear toilet flushing sound randomly). But I tell you…the food was awesome. I guess it must be the weather…that’s why my hotpot was double tasteful and satsifying! Not very expensive. Average price around $20/pax (depends on what you eat lor!)

Then continue to walk around Mong Kok (ladies market, flower market, etc) and finally ended our day. I realised that the shops were all opened even until midnight (don’t know if it’s cause of CNY or what), totally heart the atmosphere even though it was a sunday night!

I know this is totally delayed. But I gotta cleared my back logs and busy preparing for Chinese New Year after I returned from Hong Kong. I jus wanna say…I LOVE HONG KONG and I SO WANNA GO BACK AGAIN! (minus the terrible experience at Hong Kong International Airport). =P

5 Feb 2010, 5.45am – Woke up and off to the airport!

Been years since I last took the plane…Had lousy fun choy and toasts before taking off…

Our Hong Kong trip started off with a very very very memorable experience at the custom clearance at Hong Kong International Airport! Mr GVM’s photo ID didn’t tally with his look so apparently, the officers were so afraid that he is one of those “people”…They decided to retain him at the airport for more than 3 hours asking plain stupid questions! LIKE:

“So…Are you ready to tell me your true identity?”
”How long have you two been together?”
”Where was the last trip you two went together?”
To me: “Do you know why your boyfriend changed so much?”

Heck they are really really stupid. If we want to really do something bad, we wouldn’t use a photo that totally doesn’t tally right?! WHERE’S THE COMMON SENSE, HELLO? Wasted so much of my time! Glad the trip was still fruitful and fun!

Finally being able to step out of the custom clearance…and off to our hotel – Langham Place!

Didn’t take the airport express to our hotel…but sightseeing on the bus was enjoyable. =)

First breakfast in HK – Cafe de Coral…It’s GOOD! Although it’s just a normal cha can ting…The instant noodles and macaroni were AWESOME LEH! Think alot of MSG…

Then off to The Peak!

Then to sightseeing and taking more pictures at the peak! But because it was too foggy…we didn’t manage to see any any awesome peak view. =(

Had alfresco lunch…It was freezing! Grrrr…

Then set off to DISNEYLAND!!!

Ever since the horrendous rollercoaster ride I had at KL Berjaya Times Square, I sorta promised myself that I wouldn’t do any silly things especially when I’m overseas…Honestly, who will thought that the rides at Disneyland will be dangerous right. How can kids play such thing…So with these thoughts, I tried out this ride named “Space Mountain”…First I didn’t see any safety belt to indicate it is a dangerous ride… So when we enter the “space mountain”…the view was awesome…It was like an omni theatre surrounded with planets, stars, comets, etc…

And then the worst was here…

Little did I expect this ride is yet another ROLLERCOASTER…Holycrap…

I was totally in the picture..but was scared to shit that I bended my bodies so low to ensure my safety…CRAP.

I felt nauseous when it could be a more romantic fireworks show at the sleeping beauty castle… =(

It is an undeniable fact that working at MCYS has indeed made me experience and learn so much more things that I have not had the chance to experience at Sentosa.

Besides learning to handle and work with difficult operators from all walks of life, I had been arrowed to take on so many versatile roles that I almost forgot my main job scope.

Other than being tasked to be part of the brochures revamp team, department healthy lifestyle coordinator…

I was also arrowed to emcee at our Deputy Director’s farewell party!!

To be honest, I didn’t have much thought about it ‘cause I was tasked to be more like a “side-kick” for my other colleague who has a wee bit of experience emcee-ing company's event.

BUT THE SCARIEST PART COMES!! when the night before my colleague actually pre-empted me that she might not be able to make it for the event as she was not feeling well!

With no icebreaker games prepared in mind, no script to go with the flow…

I still had a good sleep. LoL! which still spurs me thinking…

Anyway, I decided to take things in my stride tho’ I am still ten thousand unwilling to always be the one to receive all the arrows.

Then just an hour before the event, boss told me that a section of the event needs to be cancelled off due to some last minute circumstance…

Tell me what’s worse to come.

No game, so I can only work on the spot, and get some colleagues to play youtube videos to act as a tentative KARAOKE SESSION. Thank goodness, the VIPs arrived on time, otherwise I’ll really have no entertainment for the people!

Then the other very precious lesson that I’ve learnt about being an emcee is the spontaneity and fast response on the spot. People will throw you some comments and there you have to grab the “ball” and throw back to the audience hard. If you get a positive response, it will mean you have done great!

Honestly, I did enjoy the whole process yesterday, especially when I had some positive comments from my boss, Deputy Director, Director and many other colleagues! Had so much fun and achievement. (:

But the downside of it is that my Director has then arrowed me to emcee for another bigger event. =(

But all and all, I feel great. heh~

Ah Hua Ba Kut Teh: Good food at a “GREAT” price

AHHH There goes our long weekends! gotta wait for another month before I can enjoy another series of loooooooong weekends…

Have to mention the Ba Kut Teh my dad treated us to yesterday!

OUTRAM AH HUA ROU GU CHA

Honestly, it’s been a long time since I tasted a Ba Kut Teh this good! The ba kut and the trotters are super tenderlicious. The soup is a wee bit spicy because of the pepper (but pepper is a must have for all Ba Kut Tehs!) but the spice definitely did not ruin the true essence and taste of the soup.

Pardon me if I sounded ignorant, but I find the idea of having the fried dough sticks soaked in either the soup or the gravy of the trotters very brilliant and tantalizing. hehe~

Of course not forgetting the GIAM CHAI! I would love to have somebody to enlighten me as to why is it called the GIAM CHAI when it is sweet and not salty! Very appetising indeed. I swore I could have eaten the whole bowl of rice just with the plate of GIAM CHAI. Yums!

Totally oblivious of the fact that I need to go on a diet badly. :( Life’s gonna be meaningless…

But good food also comes with a “great” price…5 bowls of Ba Kut Teh, 1 bowl of pig’s kidney and liver, 2 bowls of fried dough sticks, and 1 plate of GIAM CHAI plus 2 drinks actually cost us SGD59! Seems like 1 bowl of small small Ba Kut Teh with only 3 pathetic Ba Kut Teh already cost us 6 bucks! JEEZ Kopitiam’s accredited good food that comes with a restaurant price tag. Oh well…

To ease my guilt of indulging in scrumptious meals, Mr GVM and I promised to make Mondays a “workout day” for us. WHEN I SAY WORKOUT, I MEAN REAL EXERCISING. Ahem~

Soooo…we started of with swimming last Monday…and something less tedious today…which is…

HAHA! see the scores and you can just tell how losers we started off…But Mr GVM did much better at the last set…haha he scored 103!!! WHATEVER!

First Eurasian Christmas Party

To be honest, it’s like my first real Christmas party ever. Unless you consider those whereby you just gather around with friends and play mahjong overnight as a Christmas party! HAHA!

Thanks to Mr GVM, had a chance to experience how the Eurasians celebrate Christmas like Chinese celebrating Chinese New Year. Mrs Martin cooked really delicious Sambal Prawns and BBQ Chicken Wings YUMMY! And the stuffed Turkey was just like! Roast chicken lor…haha~ P.S The turkey bought from Cold Storage that’s why can comment. XD

To return for that scrumptious meal, I baked some cupcakes and a Christmas Brownie Cake for the Martins too! Forgot to take picture of the cupcakes but see the brownie! Stole the decorations from last year and this year’s log cake. HEHE! With one cherry and strawberries. I think.. STILL CAN MAKE IT BA.haha

The thing that makes the whole party much more exciting and lively is that the Martins will start jamming their guitars and doing their Christmas Carols. Even with their very own printed song sheets.. Tell me how enthusiastic was that! Can’t imagine myself attempting to bring the house down with Chinese New Year songs with only my family staring at me like I’m an idiotic clown. That’s just not the Chinese family type.

It was also the first time I heard the Portuguese version of White Christmas *if I remembered correctly*. Sound totally like Malay song. Or was it Malay? mmm.. In the nutshell, it was a great and fun experience!*psst..minus those aunties-girlfriend interrogation intervals*

Weekend Getaway…Rainy..but FUN!

Had a tiring yet “good rest” last weekend. HAHA! With the company, tho the weather was holy crap, the weekend was still filled with extreme fun and laughters! Can’t wait for the next trip…like maybe…10 years later? HAHAHA!

I was uber excited yesterday for the fact that I had a chance to watch a live play in a theatre for the first time in my life! (OR perhaps I just couldn’t remember if I’ve been to one before). heh~

Although it’s nothing artsy fartsy like Phantom of the Opera or Cats, I had a great fun at the play directed by none other than our own Hossan Leong and local theatre veterans, such as Emma Yong, in the parody “Beauty and the Beast”.

Initially, the idea of missing out the muscular, himbotic Gaston, makes me feel rather uncomfortable…

But I can’t deny the fact that the additional of Desiree and Brandy makes the play all so much more brilliantly hilarious! See the two wacky “sisters” on stage is already worth that money!

In case you don’t know who these “guys” are, the sister in green is actually Chua En Lai! HAHA!
Honestly speaking, I think the Ris Low’s joke is abit too outdated lar..
but the way Chua En Lai said “My right breast is leopard prins and my left breast is zipbra prins”, and when Chua and Darius Tan unexpectedly shouted “SHINGZ” just made everything wackily right!

And if you thought these pantomimes are only capable of creating some lame jokes or cranky scripts, you might want to think again. Rather than saying that the storyline is brilliant (which is obviously not the case because the story, to be honest, was so much lacking than the original), I would say that the dances, entertainment value, and even the soundtracks are thumbs-up! I really love those songs! But I just couldn’t bring myself to buy the soundtrack though…(perhaps someone want to buy it for me as a Christmas present? HEH!)

Was shopping around Chinatown yesterday with my parents and chanced upon this little dessert shop at the People’s Park Shopping Centre – Dessert Hut!

Honestly, I have not heard of it before. But because the Singaporean mentality is so deeply rooted in us, my family and I decided to give it a try after looking at the crowd in the shop.

At the first look of the menu, the desserts are not so-called unique or relatively cheap. Just the normal tau suan, cheng tng, black glutinous rice, mango sago, almond, etc. Most of the desserts are charged at about $2.50 per bowl.

Honestly, the main point is that we just want to rest our feet after that long walk….

Initially I wanted to get myself a black glutinous rice but still thinking that perhaps should get something more cooling…when finally something caught my eyes…!!

Tell me about it! It’s damn cool okay! I totally heart the combination of it. The vanilla ice cream tastes oh so rich and creamy. The glutinous rice is sweet and smooth. Both filling and cooling at the same time!! *THUMBS UP*

I didn’t really try my dad’s tau suan nor my mum’s mango sago ‘cause I thought mine was pretty awesome already. HAHA!

Anyway this shop is somewhere near to the bridge linking to Chinatown Point. So the next time if you pass by that place, try out the dessert. Especially Black glutinous rice with ICE CREAM!!! yums.

I would honestly say…it’s just chilli and lots of chilli and lots of chilli. The buffalo wings tasted like crap. They are earning $ like nobody’s business. I have to admit that I kinda cheated ‘cause I scraped off most of the chilli-coated skins. But who cares! It’s crazy lor the chilli doesn’t make your tongue numb…instead THEY HURT YOUR TONGUE LIKE MAD. It’s madness painful just like thousands of daggers stabbing into your tongue.

Although there is the ultimatum of level 35. But please spare me. I am only willing to be a fool for ONCE. Thanks!

Honestly, I have always thought that rushing for deadlines or trying to solve the technical glitches are tough and tacky enough. But today, I have encountered a super extremely tough day, perhaps because it’s Friday the 13th. I almost wanted to kill somebody.

When you have got an MP referral letter (which is also a public feedback to the minister or member of parliament), you have only 3 days to rush out a reply to the public and the MP. Note: All replies must be escalated to the deputy director through the manager and supervisor. If you think the SOPs are tough, catch this: god damn talking to complainants who are damn pissed off, can kill you totally.

I cannot believe it. I got scoldings and complains from public and even my own centre’s operators for NOTHING. Does it fucking mean that civil servants have to be scolded because we are fucking receiving the tax payers’ money. Oh hello! My family and I are tax payers too. WTF!

I was busy the whole day listening to people’s non-stop complaints. Well, even my colleagues are asking, why are you so happy? Because I honestly have no other way to vent my frustrations. =/ But then feeling happy just makes things much easier because of the thought that everything will just be alright. heh~ Long week ahead but thank god its the weekends!

I’M GONNA REVENGE SOMEDAY! 老虎不发威，你当我是病猫! okay enough of the whining! hee!

The Xi You Ji Gang Birthday Gathering! Of the 4 gang members (tentatively missing out the Grand Master..hehe~), we have 3 Librans and 1 Scorpion. Imagine the amount we have to spend on birthday presents and dinner XD..so every year we tried to make it simple..so as usual, steamboat dinner and mahjong!

After the NTUC spree, each of us only pay about $15! Mr KL was so good (as usual!) to sponsor a can of abalone and a bottle of ice wine! NICE! For that, I’m willing to lose that $8 on the mahjong table. haha~

The 5-days celebration started since yesterday! Had a seafood feast with my family and Mr GVM at Owen Seafood Restaurant at Turf City Shopping Mall. More calories that cost us $277 (sponsored solely by Mrs Ng!)

Yummy! Totally love the clams! But Mr GVM thinks that the chilli crab was his favourite of the night.

22 Oct – Woke up at 9 plus in the morning, had our breakfast at Northpoint Ya Kun Kaya Toast and off to Batam!
To be honest, I am not into massage nor spa. So this trip was not a very fruitful one. In fact, both Mr GVM and I felt that shopping at Batam is like preparing to get cheated any minute!

But of course, the food at Batam is still cheaper than those in Singapore.

Everything you see on the table cost us about 13SGD

We didn’t quite shop alot…Cause we don’t really have much time. Only visited the Mega Mall at Batam Centre which is right next to the ferry terminal and the Batam City Square (forgot the name liao) which is tucked in the middle of Nagoya City. The clothes, the shoes, the toys are OH so expensive lor, like shopping in Orchard Road.

WII = SGD500 (RP3,350,000)

Shoes = Average SGD20

Clothes = Average SGD25

Please don’t get frightened by the number of zeros at the back, the exchange rate at Indonesia is 1SGD:RP6,700. Basically, everyone is at least a millionaire there.

They have so many so many imitated goods, i.e. Chanel, LV, Burberry, Anna Sui etc. All not very cheap and look super fake.

I highly advise that you do not shop at Nagoya City at all! Unless there are any other nice malls that are selling stuff at very low prices, the one I visited is MADNESS.

I had such a bad experience with this shop selling those toys and Hello Kitty collectible items. I saw the whole set of Hello Kitty Mahjong tiles in a pink leather casing which is super chio. I remembered seeing the same one at Toa Payoh selling at SGD130+.

Me: How much is this mahjong set?

Auntie: About 160

Me to MR GVM: 160000 rupiah is how much?

…after calculation…SGD25! @$#$%$^ isn’t this like dirt cheap? Besides the fact that it does not have dice included…it’s damn chio and I’ve always wanted a set lor.

So was about to pay, then

WAT THE FUCK. She totally assumed I am from Singapore and converted the price for me automatically lor! Then I refused to pay rightaway! MADNESS. Singapore also cheaper lor. FUCK must be trying to chop my head. WAIT LONG LONG LOR. She even got the face to say: “You ask me how much in Sing dollar what.” I was so angry I rebutted that I did not mention a single word about SINGAPORE right from the start.

Then when I stepped into another shop to ask about the price of a top. The salesgirl also right away converted the currency for me.

Salesgirl: about 23 dollars

Me: 23 what dollar?

Salesgirl: Sing dollars

Me: huh? oh but I’m from Malaysia leh.

Turns to Mr GVM: She said this one about 50 ringgit wor.

I think shopping at Batam must be super careful because they adopt hidden cost policy. All cost are hidden until you ask and they can anyhow slash the price or up the price one…all depending on your accent etc.

The taxis are also not any better! We took the trip to Nagoya City which cost us about RP45,000 (SGD6). Then upon arrival, the taxi cab keep pestering us to engage him for return trip as well or even a trip to various places etc. Guess how much he charged for return trip together? RP120,000. FUNNY ANOT? Unless his Math is fail de, return trip add together only RP90,000. Fuck him! Wanna cheat money also not like that. Best part, we paid him RP50,000 and he said no small change! Okay lor! Anyway RP5,000 also about SGD1.

All in all, Mr GVM only came to a conclusion that he felt totally insecure at Batam because it’s as if we are going to get cheated almost any second, any time! Before we finally end our terrible shopping experience, we had nice A&W waffles!

Okay, anyways, already back from Batam. 22 October is over! I shall cherish every seconds of the next three rest days…

Had a blast yesterday at Party World @ Liang Court! Can’t believe I actually had two great surprises this week and it’s not even my birthday yet! XD

Yesterday had a few awkward and bad moments in the office. You might call it misunderstandings or just “no intention of trying hard to please others”? Sometimes a small action with no intention of anything else gets misunderstood, as a Libran, I couldn’t stand it and just want to JUSTIFY myself. But oh wells, fuck care? I mean we owe no explanation or anything. Just be ourselves, get our things done and stay nonchalant! PR is such a difficult subject to hold in the society, and that’s what I totally hate when it comes to working life. But remembering what I’ve been through at Far East. What could be worst? Whatever will be, will be.

Going on a 2 days leave pretty soon~ It’s time to throw all troubles away and let my hair down! TROUBLES FUCK OFF!

My 2nd time at Jazz by the Beach to meet up with the former Sentosians. This time, I did take the pictures of the food! With Farah’s Islander card, we only paid about $17 per person for the seafood platter, chicken wings and Snapple! =DDD

This event has not been announced on the Sentosa website but as a word-of-mouth publicity in Facebook currently. It’s actually Sentosa’s latest event for the Halloween. (Note: Pulau Blakang Mati was the former name for Sentosa, there is a story to it too, heh~ maybe I can share with you some other time). In fact, the events team did execute some paranormal activities for Halloween 5 years ago. According to an insider’s info (haha! I shan’t cite name lar), coffins were used as props to enhance the creepiness of the event. When the event was over, staff were ordered to remove the props and one of the coffins were said to be very heavy as if something is inside! It’s even added that one of the staff got possessed?!!! Well I won’t say much ‘cause I worked there barely for a year which was like last year? haha…

It seemed like after that spooky incident, there is no more programme for Halloween on Sentosa. At least the last year when I was there, there is no Halloween event and the Sentosa team actually went to Night Safari’s Halloween for “study trip” instead. HAHA!

Now, it seems like the events team is ready to make another daring move again! A very spooky location chosen with extremely ghostly characters looming around the corners waiting to lay their hands on you! I was told that one of the colleagues, who are able to see “things”, has been invited to do a trial walk to mark out the “restricted zones” that should be avoided by the team to place or do anything “disturbing” or “disregarding” to the “tenants” there. Which means to say…you will not know if you’ve actually seen the real or fake thing staring back at you inside there…So, now now…who are ready for a night of…no return? Sunday was yet another family day with my mommy treating us to a great feast again! Mind you, it’s only lunch and we spent more than 100 bucks! HEHE~ P.S. we are not rich k! We just love to eat! haha~

It was a chinese restaurant, named Jing Dian Seafood, located at a very ulu place at Sungei Kadut. It was situated right in the IFC (International Furniture Centre) buidling. The centre was like a mini shopping mall but only with furniture shops and it actually provides shuttle bus services from Yew Tee MRT. =)

I personally think that the soup is tasty..but I guess the Lobsters were broiled too long and they actually lost their sweetness.
Besides the big pot of Lobsters porridge, we also had Fried Kai Lan and Satay Deer Meat. They were delicious!
I love the mouth-watering Satay sauce but the deer meat is tad too hard to chew…

Now you don’t have to keep waving in hope to get the attention of the waitress…because…TADA!
Press the bill button and your table number will be displayed on the electronic board and the waitress will bring to you the BILL! haha~

I used to think EPL is a fun to watch game when you are supporting a team. But it gets irritating and nonsensical when you realised that you are slowly cultivating into a soccer fan. One major behaviour that I SUPER HATE AND DESPISE is humiliation and insults to the other team.

It was never my habit to insult or laugh at other’s teams until people started to humiliate the team I support once and again. And I think it’s an eye for an eye. In fact, moronic fans have their alibi to say that it’s an enjoyment to insult. WOo cool.

Yes! I SUPPORT CHELSEA. Cause that’s the team who dares to admit that they are RICH and depend totally on MONEY to win the champions title. But who fucking care honestly. C. Ronaldo that jackass left MANURE (yes u can flame me i dun fucking care) for that billions of dollars which we might not ever see in our whole lives. Talk about loyalty? LiverPOO has not won the title since trillion years ago, put in more money to buy better talent, please.

YES U CAN TOTALLY FLAME ME AND BAN MY BLOG. But I don’t care.

10 years ago, we were talking about the cute guy-next-door. 10 years later, we are perhaps now talking about the wedding gowns, husbands, and kids. But pardon me, I’m just the listener most of the time. Well~ It’s so cliché but time really flies so FAST. We have all grown so much older.

Frankly, the topic that has been going round and round my girl friends is - MARRIAGE. Because I have two extreme groups of friends, I can really see the difference between gatherings with the girls and the boys. Even when it comes to twitter or blog or facebook status, or photo albums, they are all about WEDDINGS and MARRIAGE. Alright, it’s not that I’m against it or what, just that…sometimes I thought girls might be a little too obsessed over relationship. And I feel that..when things don’t go the way too perfect…girls got crashed totally. LIKE TOTALLY.

For instance, I used to be envious of friends who got married young…have a loving husband..and a couple of cute sons. But on the other side, they might be envious of the freedom of being a single as well. In fact..I just got a news from a friend of her failed marriage. I don’t call it a failure…but it’s just a marriage that didn’t work out eventually. But I admired her courage to make such a decision against the perspectives of others and to focus on her career. Which also means fairytales don’t always have a happy ending.

Then I have a cousin who is getting married end of this year. She has been waiting for this day to arrive for the past 9 years. And when it finally comes, she is hesitating if this is the right decision. I didn’t comment neither did I give her my advice. I mean seriously, who am I to judge anyway. But because of this ROM thing, she has been feeling so troubled…so troubled.

Then I read about quarrels between friends over wedding preparations and blogs that are COMPLETELY FILLED with only boyfriends boyfriends and ONLY BOYFRIENDS. It makes me wonder…do we girls ever live for ourselves? Like I mean…really for ourselves…our life…our career…What if one day, the relationship or that guy just doesn’t work the way we want it to be, will our lives be totally disrupted? Like what happened to me 2 years back. mmm…

Long weekend, short getaway

I’ve already lost count the number of times I went Malaysia since May.
After such a long wait for this long weekend, of course, time to get away for stress relief!

A 1-day trip to Desaru

At the Pulai Beach Resort…just dropped by because we have no intention to stay over night.
Plus don’t think there is any more room available! And guess what, we bumped into Chew Chor Meng
and his family~

Seafood feast at the Jade Garden Seafood Corner!

Actually there were quite a number of seafood restaurants there and
almost all are accredited by the media. This particular one which we
went was mentioned on channel U’s “Yummy King” before~

The restaurant was damn packed lar! We waited almost an hour
for our food! And everywhere is people standing and waiting for
seats. I was already very hungry when we reached there. I suggest
anyone who’s interested to try out the food there…to have
at least some snacks before heading down.

Then of course, after such a long wait…It’s time to FEAST!

Take a look at the sour and spicy top shell~ It’s actually something like abalone but of course not! Still the sauce ?
is definitely oh-so-tantalising. The spiciness is just right.

But the sambal sotong is pretty normal…

It sort of reminds of both baked rice and the grilled prawns at Manhattan Fish Market…The sauce on
top of the lobsters is melted cheese. OH HOW FATTENING! One trip can disrupt the long persevered diet plan.
Just look at the mouth-watering juicy fleshy lobsters…

But honestly, I still prefer the original steamed lobsters with the sweetness and freshness wholly preserved.

Then dropped by Sebana resort to “appreciate” the beauty of mother nature and the…err…jetty. Most importantly
is just to use the toilet. haha~

Impromptu trip down to Sentosa…

It’s been so longgggggggg. Went for a ride on the Luge & Skyride, did a suntan and then caught up with my former Sentosa colleagues.

Ahh~ Those were the days.

Food at Jazz by the Beach was really good! Especially the ocean catch. Oh man~ I didn’t take photo of the food. =/ But you all must really try the food there! And if you think that dining on the Islan d must be relatively pricey…you’re wrong! the price was pretty average like those at Timbre or some other live band pub.

But the music…to me was okay. ‘Cause many of the songs I’m just not familiar with or perhaps to be exact, don’t know how to appreciate.

Then I had the chance to witness “public proposal” for the very first time in my life! So romantic…of course made possible by the romantic man and the brilliant Sentosa events team. =) I guessed more pictures to come at www.sentosa.com.sg.

I came across this advert on The Straits Times. Nothing fanciful nor extravagant. A blank page with just a few liners.

But it caught my eyes and I just want to share it here!

One liner but strong words. Those words “sex” and “F1” do intrigue your curiosity, don’t they. Admit it.

When you flipped through the endless property launches advertisements on Straits Times, it is sooooo
common for you to see either a full page or sometimes a 2-page spread of full color pictures of HOUSES/PROPERTIES.

Followed by a map with various marks of “proposed MRT/LRT stations” (which has created a big boo-hoo recently).

They are honestly so so so typical and so boring that you just flipped through the pages without taking a 2nd look.

But this advert just caught my eyes…Makes me want to google for more information about The Trizon.

To be honest, I am no property potential buyers so I couldn’t gauge if this advertisement has done its job.

But overall, it does serve the purpose of an advertisement. Capturing your attention and for me – retention of information.

At least I am aware of this property named The Trizon.

Sometimes, I just enjoy the magic of advertising.

A Sunday spoilt by the girl’s thing

Menses cramp almost killed me. I concussed right after a panadol pill. and there goes my Sunday.

At least the morning wasn’t wasted for my family and I had a scrumptious Dim Sum breakfast at Ang Mo Kio. Oh, how I just love food gatherings with my family! =)

I couldn’t remember the exact address but it was just somewhere near Anderson JC. It was actually a Dim Sum stall located in a coffee shop. If I’m not wrong, the stall should be called something “Just Hong Kong Dim Sum”…

To be honest, the variety wasn’t that many. Just those typical Siew Mai, Lo Mai Gai, Chee Cheong Fun, Crystal dumplings, prawn dumplings and etc.

Our bill adds up to about $40 for 5 of us

I heart the 芒果虾筒 (fried dumpling like with prawn and mango)

Looking forward to the Crab Feast tomorrow with my family! Chase those Monday Blues away! =D

A day at the Museum

Workplan retreat at the National Museum was fun! I guess it’s because we have a wacky bunch of people in the division. But can we not have amazing race AGAIN?

Retreat ended at 4pm and I headed to Cathay for movie and dinner with Mr. GVM! I know I blogged about “UP” even when the premiere was released…but I only had the chance to watch it today. HAH~~~ In order to make it a more fulfilling experience, we opted for the 3D version.

I remembered the last time I stepped into the cinema for a 3D flick was the chinese horror film named “咒乐园”(direct english translation is cursed amusement park.). But the experience was disastrous! Because the movie was edited into both original and 3D cut, so you are required to wear the glasses only at points when the effects were included. In the end, the interchanging of shots made me felt totally nauseous. *pukes*

This time I had mentally prepared myself to experience such disgust again. haha! But surprisingly, it was a fun experience IMO! I didn’t know even the trailers were in 3D as well. So basically you can start wearing the glasses right from the trailers to the end of the movie. But honestly, I think the graphics and colours would be brighter and more contrasting in its original version. yes? no?

The only part that I found irritating throughout the show was to have the glasses slipped down my nose every few minutes…Or maybe I just don’t have that kind of high nose bridge to hold the glasses. bleukz. Plus glasses’ handles, which extended out behind my ears, kept touching against the chair which made me felt rather uncomfortable. =(

On the whole, it was an enjoyable experience for the eyes. I guess I will find myself going into the theatre for another round of visual impact from The Final Destination in 3D on 28 Aug???

Especially yesterday, I slept at 10pm!

Sadly, I won’t be joining the Great Eastern Women Run this year…cause I missed the early bird rate and totally don’t feel like paying $46 for the race..

but nvm! Self-discipline instead! haha I hope I can persist my weekend workout long enough. Healthy lifestyle needs to begin real soon~~

EVERYONE! Northpoint has extended and now we’ve got Pastamania! Manhatten Fish Market! Seoul Garden! Breeks! and many more F&B outlets!

BETTER FOOD, MORE FATS!

BUT! Instead of satisfying my palate at the abovementioned outlets, I had my dinner at the Eighteen Chefs located at Yishun GV.

In case, you have not heard about them…Eighteen Chefs is the eatery that takes in ex-convicts during their last few weeks of sentence and provides them with the opportunity to hone their culinary skill for a career in the F&B industry. Indeed, it is not just another eatery that serves only food…but also heart-warming meanings attached to it. Read more.

Mr. GVM had the DIY meal of Japanese curry cheese baked rice, minced beef and pan-grilled fish with garlic bread, soft drink and soup of the day that cost about $16. Whereas I had the Seafood Marinara with soft drink and soup of the day that cost around $15. I liked Mr. GVM’s DIY meal better honestly ‘cause the seafood marinara tasted kind of normal. We finished them all! Shows that either we are too hungry or the food is good! =)

Now you see it…Now you don’t!

Okay, then with the ample time after the dinner, we managed to catch the long-awaited movie (this is only applicable to MR. GVM) “G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra”.

I know we are pretty SLOW. But after watching it, it doesn’t really matter to me. I personally feel that we could have just given it a MISS. Not that I totally dislike the movie, I think that it is value for money to watch such costly Hollywood effects. BUT NOTE: I MEAN ONLY THE EFFECTS.

Sorry to say, the plot stinks upside down!

Perhaps, you could be questioning my ability of understanding, because I couldn’t understand 90% of the plot! Or rather, I don’t think it seemed logical! Too much Hollywood stereotypes and discrimination that I can’t stand.

Below is the list of my grudges to justify why the flick stinks:

Take revenge for your great great great grandfather who was “humiliated” by being encased with a mask about 300 years ago and hence, build unbelievably strong weapons to attack countries and people in the present year who has totally no idea nor fucking care about the humiliation of your ancestor
How much did McCullen pay Rex to make him do all these kind of stupid things? Why is he such a genius to the extent of killing his sister who cares so much about him?
Who is this Zartan guy? What is he supposed to do?
Hollywood stereotype no. 1 = Chinese/Korean/Japanese equals oriental. We do not need to differentiate them and that’s why Hollywood will always get Korean to act as Japanese or Chinese as Japanese. Whatever?
I should be 99% wrong! But I thought the small “Japanese” boy was speaking in Korean. HAHA!
Hollywood stereotype no. 2 = Japanese = Samurais or Ninjas. They all use flying darts and carry two ninja swords with them.
Hollywood stereotype no. 3 = Black heroes are born comedians and they never stop talking too much.
The super high-tech military squad uses “Norton Anti-virus”. I know I’m not expertise to comment much but I remembered how my Norton anti-virus could not detect and remove certain trojans and spyware. =( My one should be pirated copy..HAHA! But of course, these names including Cisco are the ones that sponsor those costly effects in the show =D CHEERS!
Why Ana can suddenly recall so much things about Duke?
The jokes aren’t funny.
If I were young Lee Byung-hun, I will also stab the Master upside down. DAMN! He won that ang moh so many times and when the ang moh won one time..then he is no. 1? What logic? Or is Hollywood telling us ANG MOH IS GREAT? Racist.
The 2 bad guys were too easy to capture. What a turn off!

It’s kinda late, that’s why I shall stop whining. But of course, movies are meant for entertainment right! So why bother so much? It’s just that I can’t take it when these Hollywood productions treat us like idiots. Anyway! Don’t take it too seriously, you can still go to take a look at their advanced film technologies! And the above is just my perspective and comments to provide you with an alternate entertainment. HEHE!

Happy 1 year anniversary

3rd celebration this month! Intended to go Equinox, but it seemed like the food review of that restaurant wasn’t quite positive. So we ended up at the Lotus Grill Restaurant in Clarke Quay. Dining ON the Singapore River on a JUNK! Fun experience! HEH~

I think the restaurant caters more for the tourists ‘cause on the menus are common grills such as stingray, sambal sotongs and

even local delights like Mee Soto and Laksa…but double the market price. On the whole, the food was okay, I actually think they were tad too salty.

We had BBQ Pork Ribs and Seafood Platter (Crayfish, prawns, fish, sotong and fries)

that added up to a bill of $102 inclusive of drinks (not free flow)

Thereafter we made our way to Azabu Sabo for desserts!

A simple celebration afterall! Last but not least, Happy 1 year anniversary Mr. GVM! =)

Good times just passed too fast!

The long weekend is over! I ended it off with a trip to Malacca and was back only yesterday afternoon. It’s been a few years since I’ve last stepped foot in Malacca. In fact, the trip was quite impromptu and we drove in without booking any hotel.

The haze in Malaysia was horrible! The nice scenery along the road trip and even the sunlight was totally blocked!

My family set off about 9.30am in the morning. Trip was pretty smooth with no jams and we managed to arrive in Malacca about 3pm (with some stopovers for lunch and toilet break).

Obviously,the first thing we did was to book a hotel room!

We ended up in Mahkota Hotel. To be precise, the rooms are more like apartments rather than hotel rooms. We’ve got ourselves an apartment with 1 living room, 1 balcony and 2 bedrooms with toilets attached

If you ask me, I would honestly think that it’s not a really good experience for me because it seemed like their housekeeping were not doing their job (Or perhaps I’m just comparing it with the Five-stars Berjaya Times Square hotel which I’ve stayed in KL!). And it was super inconvenient, there was simply no traffic light for us to cross to the other street. We have to JAYWALK around super smelly drains. Seemed like the traffic in Malacca is so pedestrian-unfriendly!

The floor in the apartment has got some unknown stains that totally turned me off..and this is just PART of the stains

As the oldest capital city in the state of Malaysia with the long remarkable history of European colonization, it is definitely a MUST for tourists to visit its cultural heritage of historical buildings and monuments.

They sort of reminded me of our Sentosa Fort Siloso. Of course our cannon display is bigger. hehe~

And the famous not-to-be-missed Christ Church, Melaka

Their rickshaws are so much more havoc than ours! haha Heavily decorated with bombarding techno music lor!

Besides the cultural heritage, shopping centres are indispensable assets for any tourist attraction. There are quite a number of MEGA MALLS, namely JUSCO, Mahkota Parade, and etc, to let you shop till you drop! But honestly, the sales weren’t that much enticing because the prices are almost similar to that in Singapore.

Is it that all hotels’ breakfast buffet in Malaysia are the same? Exactly like that one I had in KL!

We didn’t explore much because we had to return to Singapore earlier ‘cause I had to rush back for my buddies’ birthday and most importantly to avoid the crazy traffic jams at night as well.

So after we checked out from the hotel on Monday morning, we headed to Jonker Walk before ending off our Malacca getaway.

Jonker Walk (a.k.a. 鸡场街文化坊). The street that is famous for its antique goods. It’s like our Chinatown with a long stretch of shop houses selling various souvenirs, antiques, collectibles and etc.

Surprisingly, I came across a shop that is selling concept graphic tees like those found in the shop houses along Haji lane. Kinda odd to be tucked in the middle of nowhere.

Last but not least, it is also a MUST to try out the local delights such as the famous Malacca’s Chin-Cha-Lok chilli and the Chicken Rice Balls!

There are so many Chicken Rice Ball stalls there…But I think this one should be the more famous one.

BUT!!! We went to try the other stall located further down…HOE KEE or something. Totally NOT NICE. The chicken meat machiam from some old chicken lor. I bite until jaw also SORE and the chicken rice balls..just don’t have that kind of fragrance that chicken rice should have. =(

So next time should try the one above instead.

In the nutshell, Malacca is about FOOD, SHOP, CULTURE AND EXPERIENCE!

There will be another long weekend in September, what’s next?!!! MACAU? HONG KONG? OR TAIPEI?

Today is Mr. GVM’s big day but his “kind” company is unwilling to approve his off/leave. So I had to have my dinner at home while he worked till 8pm.

What’s for dinner? CRABS!

Then headed down to Silversea to pick up the Birthday Boy and drove down to Marina @ Keppel Bay. I’ve not been there before and heard that it seems to be a very very romantic and conducive place for the couples.

Since both of us already had our dinner…we only ordered some drinks and light bites at Prive T.T Cause I was the driver…I couldn’t drink any alcohol…I had green apple juice instead…Costs about $8 for that 2 slices of green apple + water!!! Whereas Mr. GVM had “Peanut Butter Chocolate Martini” which tastes v. delicious!

Besides eating and drinking, most of the times…we were camwhoring~ hehe~

On the whole, the experience at Marina @ Keppel Bay was quite okay! Maybe should try some other restaurants next time…It was relatively quiet compared to Clarke Quay or Dempsey Hill. The car park only $3/entry and quite a lot of parking lots as well!

Last but not least, Happy Birthday Mr. GVM! 1 year older liao!!!

Jam Packed Thursday!

Today was a whole jam-packed day! So tiring!

It started off with the National Day Observance at the company. National songs, pledge, dances and performances.

Then we headed for our Fun Hunt! It’s something like the amazing race, where you’ll try to solve the clues and proceed to different stations…As I’m a slow turtle, our team came in 5th. =( But we still got 90 dollars Taka voucher!

After work, dragged my feet (not because I’m reluctantly to go, but my legs were just too tired!) down to Bishan to meet Mr. GVM for his birthday dinner at Shokudo, Raffles Shopping Center. We had a feast! Chicken drumlets, Omelette rice with grilled chicken, chicken katsu curry, spicy seafood hot pot, ham & cheese omelette and 3 yakitori sticks!!!!

It was just the two of us! Thought it will be tad expensive but the bill added up to about $66 nia!~~ My present for Mr. GVM more expensive lor!

Then after dinner, went up, uP & UP to level 71 @ Swissotel – New Asia Bar.

Sometimes it’s just a pity when we get so busy and simply are too tired or have no time to realise the beautiful night scenery of Singapore…

Goodness…I looked so unkempt..

Off to bed soon! And long weekend is COMING! WOHO!!!

Went ION Orchard yesterday. It is grand!! But not any place that I will enjoy shopping ‘cause everything there is branded. Didn’t have the chance to explore much because after dinner, Mr. GVM and I decided to head down to Orchard Central instead.

FEO’s Corporate Affairs Team has got some work to do!

!!! This newly-opened shopping mall’s big external screen is spoilt! Only can see half of the TVCs nia. haha! Maybe too much lightings and waste of electricity so they have then decided to cut cost by reducing their energy consumption.

Back to working life

I’m back to working life yet again after slacking for 2 months plus. First day was tiring! So much information to digest. Especially when it’s about learning everything from scratch. sigh… so much so much things to digest. I guess I’ll just have to take things in my stride. But the people there are fun and so much friendlier than those at Far East Hospitality. HEH~

Probably my first day at work is not as happening as what happened to me after dinner. I was having dinner with my parents at TPY. After dinner, went to get my car. But ‘cause my mom wasn’t feeling v. well so she rested in the car for a while and my dad was like busy getting my nephew settled down. And then suddenly a crazy woman in her HONDA with a pair of “super bitchy” sunglasses started horning at us. Her car was parked right in front of my car and then she wound down her window and shouted “Hey are you all going off?”

WAT THE FUCK? I mean you could have just wound down the window and asked me politely, couldn’t you?

So I replied “Ya we are going off, but I would appreciate if you do not horn at us.” Hey read that, that was what i said exactly WHORE!

And then she SUPER HAO LIAN insisted parking her car and started talking on her phone. YES, I know she super buay song me already ma!

So I turned on my headlights and inched my car forward. HORNING BACK AT HER.

That whore then wound down her “HONDA PRETENDING TO BE JAGUAR” window and shamelessly told me off “so are you any better?”

BITCH HAHA. I’m just doing what you did to me. and I shouted back “I’ve already told you I would appreciate that you do not horn at us…” and before I wanted to continue my whole philosophy and all..it suddenly came up to me..Why would I even want to waste my breath on such whore? haha. So yah, saved it. showed her the universal signal instead. save my breath honestly.

Only a Honda car. Act high class. Speak english very big meh? LOL! *I sounded bimbotic*

She continued to park her car in front and not letting my car out. Get a life old woman…why create such a scene there. So I off my engine. My mom continued to rest in the car, while my dad took my nephew to a stroll. HAHA. My nephew was shouting back at that whore when she screamed at us. LOL! The scene was hilarious.

Then she wound down the window again and asked “So now you not going off already right?” I GUESS SO! =D

While she was asking, she took down her sunglasses. And then…I started to sympathise with her… =(

Single eyelid…small eyes…flat features..and…generally, an ugly face. =( *I’m not saying I’m pretty but I look much better obviously* HAHAHA!

sigh..so I’m guessing that she’s either having a BAD SEX OR NOT HAVING SEX AT ALL…oh man…

But I still didn’t move out my car. She blocking ma..aiya..this kind of whore..in the end, another car moved out, she also parked there. And shamelessly walked off. I could have throw a pile of shit at her car lor. SGE4741J WHORE!! Remember this plate, next time must revenge! HAHA.

Sometimes I wonder if it’s my look that these old women are jealous of, that’s why they always like to BULLY ME. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! okay crap. I think I’m just tired. Going off to bed pretty soon. DUH~

12 Aug – First year anniversary

13 Aug – Qi’s Birthday

I’m like having 3 birthdays (2 Besties and 1 BF) and my first year anniversary. All will cost me BOMBS BOMBS BOMBS. *Pocket pik chiak already lor!* Besides October, I think there are also alot of August babies! Or just that I happen to have so many Libran and Leo friends. HAHA! It seems like everyone is having sex during the period from November – January. The holiday season with everyone having so much time and fun going overseas…that’s why also must romantic abit, more reasons to get knocked up. HAHA!

Ok Ok ‘nuff of the crap! Off to watch TV!

Time to do my perms again! I’ve even had my fringe permed this time round. It looks kinda weird. Probably I’m just not used to it!

Camwhoring with my $70 new perms!

As a regular of permed hair, my piece of advice to girls who are doing their perms the first time…Please be ready to suffer for at least 2 weeks of humiliation for carrying a lion’s mane because all great waves start with small bouncy curls. So do not tell your hairdresser to “give you big and wavy curls” because they will not last any longer than 3 months (in fact, I did a big curls once and it lasted no more than 2 months!).

To be honest, my curls aren’t as fascinating either ‘cause they are always changing. Even the same hairdresser will not be able to produce the same result. I have so far tried 3 hair salons. Note that they are all neighbourhood hairdressers because I don’t really believe that the more expensive a salon is, the better result you get.

This time round, I went back to the same hairdresser, who did my previous perms, because her technique gives longer-lasting perms! My previous perms lasted more than 8 months, despite the many times that I had them trimmed, combed and whatsoever.

Love those curls.. but these curls are actually in the stage of straightening already…

Look! My first attempt at digital perm and the very first hour when it was done! Don’t like the results at all…

and that bloody stylist trimmed my fringe damn short lor! I have to keep pulling it in hope that it will grow longer faster..heh~

Then slowly the curls loosened up…

Speaking of digital perms, my current hairdresser actually had a thing against them. 1) Digital perms produce weaker curls that does not last as long and 2) nice digital perms will only happen to people with good hair quality. Therefore, my hair is already “cui” so my curls will not be as nice. Since I’m not an expertise, I shan’t comment more on this. I almost wanted to have my hair dyed but resisted the temptation because starting new job pretty soon, therefore, it’s best not to do anything stunning for the time being.

Headed down to VivoCity to catch Harry Potter just now. Reminiscing those days when I was still at Sentosa and how my former colleagues and I used to hang around at VivoCity during our lunch times. We would always use “couldn’t manage to catch the staff bus” as an excuse to have our lunch hour extended by 30 mins. HAHA! Those were the days…and I met my FALALALA! haha miss her and all the marketing babes at Sentosa!

Before the flick, Mr. GVM and I tried out something new for dinner…

Not surprising, if you haven’t heard of it. It’s tucked at a quieter part of VivoCity, next to Long John Silver’s and opposite Ben and Jerry’s. I have wanted to go there with my former colleagues but we were always held back by the price on the board. It’s not that expensive though, just that it is not within our budget when it comes to lunching. Haha.

Are you like salivating already? LOL!

The burgers are huge! Comparable to those of Carl’s Junior. I’ll say that it’s an alternative to the latter in terms of the choice of patty. Carl’s junior caters more for people who eat beef, while Barcelos serves mainly chicken! They also have their special sauces ranging from Tangy Lemon to Supa Peri (MEANS EXTREMELY HOT AND SPICY CHILLI)! Oh, for the patty, you could also opt to double it, which means higher pile! haha.

Personally, I think that my cheese burger is a tad too salty. The fries are nice ‘cause I love fries. The chicken could be abit more tender. The buns are well grilled. It tasted pretty well if you eat the pineapple slice, buns, chicken and tomatoes in one bite. The servings are definitely filling for the guys. Remember you can opt for free flow of soft drink to go with (costs only about $2+).

Not only burgers, they also serve other dishes such as whole chicken, chicken wings, chicken wraps, chicken pasta and many many more!

My first experience doing IPL

Thanks to Dolce and Ms. Linda Song, I was given a complimentary consultation and one-time IPL treatment from Derma Image.

In case you don’t know what’s that, IPL is “Intense Pulse Light - most commonly employed by medical practitioners and aestheticians working under the guidance of a physician, is a method of hair removal from the body.” (quoted from wikipedia.com)

Since I’ve always had to shave my underarm hair due to wearing tank tops and all, I might as well have it removed permanently right. Save time, save effort.

Honestly, I have heard of stories that it is super duper painful. I had my doubts as well during the consultation. But the lady was super nice and friendly, making the effort to explain to us what IPL is and the technology they will be using – which according to her, is a 2nd Generation technology that is fast and painless.

HAHA! But I’m still afraid, so I got my friend to go in and try out first.

When it was my turn, I just felt so excited and anxious like a little girl. First I have to change into a tube-like bath robe. Of course, like any other beauty salon, they will play this kind of soothing music to calm you down. Then lying down, the lady will first shave your armpit hair before the treatment starts. I guess most of us might feel a bit awkward to be exposing our armpits to a stranger throughout the 15 mins treatment. Lol!

The lady then apply a kind of gel that is freezingly cold so to prevent direct contact of the IPL with your skin. This IPL thing can produce high heat that might hurt your skin too. Thereafter, I can feel the lady using a pen-like device to do a few “tappings” on my skin. You will feel a slight pinch with each tapping. It’s not really painful. But I think I’m quite imaginative ‘cause I kept wondering if the next tapping will ever go wrong and burn my skin. HAHA but it' didn’t happen.

The treatment lasted for only 15 mins. And of course, 1 time off will not remove your hair permanently. So it is suggested to take up a package with minimum of 10 treatments – which will cost roughly about SGD600. =(… I wanted but I don’t think I have the budget leh! So still in consideration.

But any lady who is keen to try this out, can always pop by Derma Image to take a look. I don’t know the market price honestly, but SGD600 does sound reasonable. mmm should I or should I not?

Creative Ads? You can't beat the Thais

You can’t deny that trends of viral marketing with the aid of a little sense of humour has been growing rapidly. In fact, if you do it the right way, you can get people talking not only about your ads but also your brand.

The recent most talk about commercial on air that you may have noticed would be the Cadbury eyebrow ad. In case you have not seen it…

Of course, I am not the first and only one to have linked this clip..

But when it comes to really funny and creative advertisements, I would say that the Thais are the most creative bunch of people! Sometimes it just gets me wondering who are those funny people in the advertising agencies. I am not claiming that their TVCs are very effective (‘cause I don’t even know if they have achieved their objectives) but most importantly, they have got my attention and got me laughing!!

The below ads I am about to share have been done a few years back and I couldn’t even remember how I chanced upon these commercials. Anyway, I have chosen those classics that are the most impressionable to me. You might have seen them before but I guess no harm watching again for another laugh!

I don’t know how effective is this ad. Touching though..

At least, IMO, these TVCs neutralise some other ads which are either too boring or too sexuality, especially those that objectify women!

When BBQ meets Steamboat

Don’t ask me why! But I have been craving for BBQ and Steamboat since 2 weeks ago. Today, Mr. GVM and I finally made some time, after my interview, to satisfy that demanding cravings of mine. I must have felt super relieved after the interview, therefore, my appetite was good!

So we decided to head down to that BBQ-Steamboat restaurant which I have googled about since my cravings started.

In short, it is a cheap Seoul Garden. I guessed many of you would have heard of it or been there before, when it was located at the famous steamboat zone – Marina Bay. It has relocated to a…kind of secluded corner at Turf City Shopping Mall.

ACTUALLY, I don’t think it was good. $16nett per person for free flow of food and drinks is not expensive, but the environment wasn’t very conducive. Personally, I don’t like the hygiene…

Seems like it has not been cleaned or scrubbed for years

Though without air-conditioning, it was not as warm and suffocating. However, there is this weird smell when you passed by a few corners (it could be those seafood you see…) but it just turns my appetite off at times…

There were a wide variety of food to choose from

Cooked and uncooked. I’ve only taken 2 pictures because these food are kind of predictable and common except for…

Crabs! Crab pincers made the soup more delicious!

And Mr. GVM was a very bad chef. Cause…

Most of the chicken and beef are CHAO TA one lor! No wonder he went lao sai after the dinner! AHAHA!

Anyway, I wouldn’t really recommend the place if you are looking for a BBQ-steamboat restaurant. Personally, the food wasn’t very good (esp, the marinated chicken wasn’t as delicious as that of Seoul Garden and the Crab wasn’t very fresh as well). And those cooked food are not as enticing (e.g. Mee Goreng, Chicken Wings, Fries and some other types of noodles). Psst… there were flies flying around the food cause those food were left exposed and not covered!

Honestly, I wouldn’t really go back for a 2nd round. =(

Going for the Nth thousand interviews since I QUIT!

Oh Well, I guess those who have quitted or are dying to get out of their current jobs are kind of eager to know “HOW I HAVE BEEN”. As the usual saying goes, “the economy is bad”, “the employees are getting highly demanding", and etc etc etc.

Yep, I am still going for endless interviews that will end up with “If you are shortlisted, we will call you within the next 2 weeks.” and then…2 weeks later, you hear nothing from them at all *so silent I can clearly hear the sound of the crickets* DAMN!

*Updates – and I’m going for 2 more interviews this week. WISH ME LUCK!*

But obviously, when you have been to so many interviews there must be something wrong with the way you answer those questions. I have yet to master the art of doing successful interviews yet ‘cause I have not landed myself on that IDEAL JOB. So I guess I will probably be able to write a whole essay on this part only until I have someday landed myself at the desired spot.

Meanwhile I would appreciate for my bestest friends or any kind soul out there, instead of keep asking me if I have got a job, why not help me to GET THAT JOB!

Gambler sues casino for lost $23 mln fortune

SEOUL (AFP) - - A former South Korean company boss who says he gambled away 30 billion won (23.5 million dollars) in three years is suing a casino for allegedly fuelling his addiction, according to a report.

The man identified only as Chung, 67, is appealing a court ruling last November which ordered the Kangwon Land casino to pay him 2.8 billion won in damages.

Chung says he knew nothing about gambling until he first visited the casino six years ago and believed he could recoup his losses by placing more bets.
"Then I got addicted," the JoongAng Daily quoted him as saying.

After reading this piece of news, I was somehow inspired to work my way to my first million by doing something similar, while I’m jobless.

To Sue Facebook For 2 million loss

I am claiming that Facebook has been fueling my addiction which has then somehow or rather made me lose an estimated amount of SGD2 million since 2007. I started off as a Facebooker way before Facebook has created a craze in Singapore (I remembered how the whole world around me says Facebook is super uber complicated and when there are merely 10 friends in my pet society).

I knew nothing about internet/social media addiction until I first tried installing all the various games and applications in Facebook and believed they could take away my loneliness and empty nights. “Then I got addicted”.

It has become a daily routine to log in to Facebook every few hours to check all the notifications popping up from the right bottom corner of the laptop screen, the posts that friends have left on my WALL, changes in the status between couples, photos that my friends have tagged me, status of my pet in pet society and etc.

Because of the time I have spent and wasted playing Facebook, I have thus lost my passion in pursuing a PHD that could make me a Doctor who can simply earn about to 15k or more by just giving some lectures and talks at schools. If I’m counting an employment period of 5 years after i graduated with a PHD, I could have earned a total amount of estimated SGD900,000.

Okay, I know 2 million = SGD2,000,000. Like I say I’m counting only a period of 5 years. Thereafter, I will actually meet and marry a suave gorgeous rich young entrepreneur at some extravagant cocktail parties, which are attended only by the rich upper-class people. My rich and suave husband will then make up the rest of the amount. In fact, I think the rough estimation of SGD2 million was in fact humble to say.

I therefore would like to demand a compensation of SGD1 billion from Facebook for all the abovementioned allegations. Afterall, the value of Facebook is much more than the peanut SGD1 billion, ain’t it?

OKAY! I am just amazed by how people from around the world can come up with such fantastic strategy to cheat money out of people. LOL! Well, the above crap was just a joke k! So the management of Facebook! I was kidding, please do not remove my account!!!!! mmm <—Ain’t this a display of addiction?

Let’s bargain. How about 5 millions will do? =D

Media speculation - nuclear bomb in abstract/artistry form?

Any one of you out there actually disagrees? As a New Media student myself, of course, I am already deeply intoxicated with media related etc etc and etc. If I can remember correctly, media speculation can still be so influential and powerful because of the majority of people who are media-illiterate. Hey! I’m not saying you are dumb or what k! I mean I don’t even know if I am media literate enough or not. haha! In the layman term (hehe perhaps my own definition too), it simply means we are just not logical or sometimes not sensible or sometimes are just too unbothered to recognize that certain news are plain stupid or nonsensical.

Well, this thought actually arises mainly because of the recent Michael Jackson’s death and all the uprising tributes, tabloids and discussions. Bla bla bla Yada Yada Yada. Sometimes, we should just let the dead rest in peace, shouldn’t we. Come on, quit speculating already! As a disclaimer, I am not here to judge in a sense of justifying the rights or denying the allegations…I’m just going to say what I think about media speculation itself because 1) I don’t know MJ – the King of Pop – personally, as the only song I can remember is you’re not alone (which I can’t even remember the lyrics) and 2) I am not an honours degree student so I don’t write thesis.

So there there, we have people saying that MJ’s a gay, a child-lover (k, I preferred using softer word to describe can.), eccentric legacy, and etc. (Read more…) What triggered me into writing this is actually the 80s speculations of MJ taking estrogens or even a castrado to maintain his high-pitch voice! HAHA! Of course, it is then continued with the endless WAR OF WORDS in the forums and all. Even until today, the local chinese paper still highlighted that part in a “tribute” to MJ.

Why? Because MJ is a MALE! Remembering the fact that he is neither a Mariah Carey/Georgie Brown nor a Dolphin.

HAHA! Okay lar I’m exaggerating on the high notes. But honestly, I think speaking in MJ’s kind of soft yet squeaky pitch is not impossible that you need estrogen what. I think must be because then Vitas has not been spotted yet. haha. Or perhaps Vitas also did the same thing?! =X See, I just did yet another nonsensical speculation didn’t I. haha.

I don’t deny the fact that I’m writing all the above bullshits with that little facts I read about. Honestly, which reader nowadays do research on the news article and their speculations anyway. And that what makes it more valid to understand why media speculation is so POWDERFUL and INFLUENTIAL! But one fact we cannot deny, without these, life could have been more BORING and I will have nothing to blog about at this moment. HEH!

And! I do not own any one of the abovementioned. Especially I see Wii got so many MUST-TRY games. Or maybe it’s more like back to those masak masak days when you really play like you are really playing (don’t know if you understand what I meant). LOL!

So I can have some income to buy my wii. HAHA! Honestly, I’m not so poor till I can’t survive lah…so I would appreciate if you as my friend can give me some space and time to find my job, and stop nagging at me. *Can hear the “It’s for your own good” voice going on in my head*

Anyway, the main purpose of this entry tonight is for me to present to you…my newly-adored ice cream – not ben and jerry’s, no..not swenson.

It’s UDDERS!

Accordingly to the dictionary and the shop owner’s definition – Udders refers to “Mammary gland of bovids (cows and sheep and goats)”. Our layman way of saying is “nipples or tits”. Imagine, the ice cream is made of milk fresh from the UDDERS of the cows! MOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooo!

Attention YTSSians, the shop owner of this ice cream chains is none other than our secondary school teacher – Mr. David Yim! Haha, I think he wouldn’t remember anyone of us from our batch honestly.

The one flavour which I would love to highlight is the “Strawberry Fields”! Yes, the name itself is already so nice right! Wonder if he needs to pay Beatles any copyright. But anyway, what makes it so different from the normal ordinary strawberry flavoured ice cream is that it tastes totally like A BASKET OF STRAWBERRIES KENA SQUASHED AND MADE DIRECTLY INTO ICE CREAM. The ice cream just tastes so NATURAL, you can even find in the ice cream those tiny seeds that are found on the strawberry skin itself (these seeds are also known as the strawberry pits)! SOOOO YUMMY! But I think it’s more like the girl’s kind of ice cream. hahaha.

The other one worth mentioning is the MAO SHAN WANG. YES! haha that durian. It just tastes like a whole durian in your mouth. Even when you laugh, your friend sitting opposite you can still smell that durian pungent coming right out of your mouth (quoted from Mr. Eh). HAHA!

Tons of other flavours you can try like – Rum Rum Raisin, Snickers Bar, Fresh Mango Sorbet, D24 Durian, Bailey’s & Bourbon…and etc.

Revamped! Refreshed! Relooked!

Needless for me to say! I have revamped the layout, the background, the theme, the colours and the whole look and feel of my blog! Say "Hi" to the new colouring book (which I so-called it). Totally heart the colored top banner. Brings in a more refreshing and lighter atmosphere to the whole blog.

The previous one I guess was too dark and heavy (Could it be a reason why my life has been so down!?). Anyway, I just hoped that this new look can bring in more colour and brightness to my life PLEASE! Let's shout HUAT LAR!

*drum rolls* Adding to this revamped blog is my revamped hair! Okay, honestly, not so much of a revamp to say. I just went to trim my curls (which obviously has no more curls) and gave it a darker dye. Oh well, for the interview per se! YES! I’m still going for interviews and all. Gone were my blonde streaks! What is that? 2 days ago, I didn’t know either. This was actually a brand new sort of game genre around the internet.

And betcha didn’t expect that this was recommended by my little niece (who is barely pri 2).

It’s called a Karaoke Party! The wackiest thing about it is you can sing into your microphone and it actually grades you by the number of notes you hit accurately.

haha. ok, 我承认我很无聊。Well I guess when you have all the time in the world you get to explore all sorts of bo liao things to give your life more meanings.

I guess this is really what you called as in a transition. From trying hard to find a job, and feeling demoralized every time you got turn away to slowly getting used to it, then trying to finally find a job..and finally learning how to enjoy this (not-knowing-when-will-it-end) break. HAHA! Seriously!

On Monday, I went sourcing for some (confidential) stuff with JY at Bras Basah. And because we didn’t have much idea what to do since the day is still long, we went to explore Arab st. and Haji lane. HAHA! It was when you seriously feel that goodness. you are exploring and adventuring around places while everyone is slogging at work! FEELS GOOD MAN!

Then today went shopping with Mr. GVM and caught the 2009 blockbuster movie: Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen. I was evil! I wanted to be a spoiler and spill all the endings out. But everyone shunned away from me! HAHA! I didn’t have the heart afterall…but Mr. GVM was crazy! He totally put the ending on his msn nick! SO FUNNY! Anyways! Okay…what I can say is it’s worth the price perhaps even of a gold class seats lar. lol!

But anticipate for Transformers 3!!! lol!!! CAN THIS BE CONSIDERED A SPOILER????

Things just got from bad to worst.

I’ve once tried my best. I did almost everything i could. But things are just so simply replaceable. And yet people push away everything you have once tried your best to do and assume their first impression of you.

What could I still do? I have tried what I could, done what I would, and said what I wanted to say.

Things just got from bad to worst. I already don’t know what can I do.

I had the most DRAMAMAMAMA day in my life today.

New work started off like shit.

I got 2 colleagues – I shall name them K and R.

K – super hypertension working machine that needs some cleaning to remove dirt (eg. vulgarities) and extreme menopauses

R – super well-dressed poser? I don’t know what has she been busying with. seriously.

These 2 are supposed to hand over the previous girl’s job to me. I am like uber stressed up because I need to learn things from scratch and the important stuff pertaining to budget!

So the first 2 days, I had a taste of being screamed and shouted at by K in front of my temporary boss (current boss is away on maternity leave) and colleagues from other units. Anxiety = mistakes. I admitted I broke down on the 2nd day.

3rd day – K kept telling me about how I will be “SCREWED” by the boss when she comes back from maternity leave because I can’t get the things right. Kept threatening me and telling me how bad my boss is. Fucking crazy.

4th day – Work becomes a burden. It’s depressing. I decided to call Singapore Mint and see if I still have a chance to go for a 2nd rd of interview with them (cause when they called me for a 2nd rd of interview. I have already got this job)

Today (5th day) – I have had enough. Stupid culture and stupid co-workers. I talked to HR. I think it’s stupid. I hate this environment. They told me to try. In the end, my boss who is away on maternity leave heard my problem and wanted me to give her a call.

The first time I talked to my new boss. She is totally soft-spoken and v. friendly. Perhaps it’s just another facade but I don’t know. I would rather believe that she is nice. She told me another side of her story

- She has not been happy with K’s bad temper and the way she talks and treats ppl

- R is a lazy bum

She was not the only one who said that. HR, the GM’s secretary and temp boss all knew that the 2 colleagues had a serious problem. They wanted to make me stay. “I will ensure that you are shielded and guided along the way. Bear with it k until I come back” this was what she assured me. Things got better.

Later, the secetary had a talk with K. They had a tiff. Boss had a talk with K. And K came to the meeting with swollen eyes.

Evening, temp boss asked “ask ur fren to send me her resume. k’s leaving”

How drama is that?

The best part? Singapore Mint is offering me a job. Monday to tell me the renumeration package.

KL Trip 060509

Okay…I’m starting a new work, new place, new environment, new people this coming Monday. It’s so stressful…sigh…so to make sure I had a blast before all these things come crashing on me…I went on a trip to KL with Mr. GVM! Yes, this is totally last min. Mr. GVM’s leave was approved on Monday and we booked our tickets on Tues. Then the next min I know, I am packing up my stuff and waking up early in the morning at 5.30am to get myself ready for the trip to helluva fun!

6 May

5.30am – woke up, washed up and ready to go

6am – met Mr. GVM down my house. It was raining super uber heavily. DOWNPOUR! What a way to start our journey. Then we are on our way to Golden Mile.

7.30am – Board the coach and off we go!

Individual entertainment on an 18-seater executive coach. The games were just some old-time gameboy game (eg. sonic the hedgehog, bust-a-move, aladdin) and outdated movies (such as dalmatian 101, the nanny diaries, money no enough 2 and etc). Nonetheless, these are still entertaining when it comes to a long journey along malaysia expressway with nothing but trees and trucks.

around 11am – we arrived at Yong Peng for a lunch break.

1.30pm – TADA! We have stepped into Berjaya Times Square Hotel at Kuala Lumpur! It’s actually not a very tiring journey.

And the rest of the day is simply shopping shopping and more shopping at Berjaya Times Square! Can you imagine a bugis village style of shopping mall more than 7 levels high. If you think VivoCity is big, Berjaya Times Square is like 2 times of VivoCity man. And every shop is on a “buy 1 get 1 free” promotion with dresses less than rm29! Actually I didn’t really buy alot of thing. I only bought about 1 jumpsuit, 4 dresses and 1 shirt = total rm 204 = SGD 100. An avg. of 16 dollars per piece. Not v. cheap lar cause the dresses I bought are mainly officewear…for my new job lor =( If you are goin for those casual dresses for shopping and etc. U can get more at the same price. But at least Mr. GVM bought alot more with lesser amt of money.

I didn’t take photos of the clothes that I bought. =(

But I have to say, the fake soccer jerseys, soccer stuff and all the imitations of LV, Coach, Chanel and Burberry can really make u go “WOW”.

Oh and I wanted to mention. the hotel room in Berjaya Times Square hotel is soooooooo big. I don’t know if it’s a suite (tho Mr. GVM said it’s not). It’s still relatively big!

Then we had our first lunch in KL at the restaurant named Vivo. heh heh~ It served western food. Cheap cheap machiam Aston/Botak Jones! I would say it’s more like Aston’s cause it tasted better. hahahah. A total bill of RM32 = SGD 16

7 May

We woke up tad late cause were watching Barca vs. Chelsea on cable. And then off we went to our breakfast at the hotel restaurant. mmm..Not v. sedap. At least not something I would crave for again.

Then we are ready for our trip to the magnificent Twin Towers!

Then we had our lunch at a fast food chain that has long extinct in Singapore – A&W. And in fact, I now understand that things do happen for a reason. the food sucks. Besides the root beer with the float that would filled from your tummy up to your throat. The burgers and fries and everything taste like crap. The chicken waffle is the most disgusting thing. They put too much mustard that covered the delectable taste of chicken. It tasted nothing but mustard. like shit.

Then we had a great time exploring the discovery center at KLCC. It’s something like Science Center and Discovery Center in Singapore lar. So we didn’t really buy tickets to go in. We had some fun time playing the free displays outside the center. haha

We didn’t shop much at KLCC cause it’s like Takashimaya. Everything is expensive. Even more expensive than in Singapore.

So we proceeded to Sungei Wang for more shopping….But the things there are all the fake goods. So in the end. we only bought stuff from Chinatown. Some local products and a few fake t-shirts. hahaha. But the things there are roughly the same. Fake jerseys, fake LV, fake Chanel, fake Burberry, fake Coach and etc. So it doesn’t really entice the both of us. When you have seen 2 shops, you have seen them all.

Then we were finally back at Berjaya again to do some more shopping and eating. (more pix still in Mr. GVM’s camera which he has yet to find a way of uploading from the SD card)

Facing new challenges
